My Relationship with Love
MaryJayne Waddell | FEB 13, 2025

It's the day of LOVE. Here are my thoughts on what I currently love, have loved, and will love in my future.
I love watching the tiny little Geckos on my outside patio. They feel like true friends. Each morning I open my blinds to see their heads bobbing as if they're saying, in a cockney accent, "Ello MJ, ow you doin' mate?" I live alone, so this connection is quite important.
I love Turner Classic Movie Channel. Gregory Peck (Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird), Gary Cooper (Will Kane in High Noon), Humphrey Bogart (Richard Blaine in Casablanca)...oh my heart!
Thank you for the hours of idolizing and fantasizing about you. Thanks to you, I will require the next love in my life to possess the combination of your rugged good looks, quiet masculinity and emotional self-awareness. Is that too much to ask for?
I love practicing and teaching yoga and meditation. I marvel at the miracle of my body's ability to breathe and bend
and the power of my mind when I direct it to move away from doubt and move towards possibility. You receive what you believe!
I love creating. Take this blog for example, it only existed in my mind and now it's evolved and documented. There's joy in creating and giving something of myself to the world.
I love reminiscing about past loves...mostly. It reminds me how my heart will never really be without love. Whether it's remembering my sweet Mother's love, the unconditional love of many pets, the love of family and friends or the very complicated loves from past relationships. Each of these loves has either made my heart swell with joy or deflate with disappointment. It's all been necessary. It's all been love.
I love visualizing my future. I'm healthy, have the essentials of shelter, food and enough money, a television to watch TCM, a patio to accommodate my Gecko friends, a yoga mat, pencil and paper and an open heart for when love knocks on my door. Whomever knocks better lead with a line from one of my TCM heartthrobs!
